AROMA, FLAVORS AND USE IN COOKING:

In short In appearance, we recognize turmeric by its resemblance to ginger. Just like it, it is eaten fresh, or dried then reduced to a fine powder to become a spice.

Profile Turmeric has an earthy, slightly bitter, warm flavor. On the nose, the spice is slightly peppery, with woody and sometimes milky touches. Much less lemony and spicy than ginger, its flavors emerge during long cooking. Turmeric is consumed both for its diffuse and subtle aromas, as well as for its intense yellow-orange color. This is how it gives its color to curry powders and Indian masalas.

Originally from Southeast Asia, and cultivated since ancient times in southern India, we offer Turmeric from an Indian producer in our store.

INSPIRATIONS, IDEAS AND RECIPE SUGGESTIONS:

Use Turmeric remains subtle in taste. It is therefore very easy to integrate it into many dishes and culinary preparations, without having to worry about the dosage. However, be careful with its strong coloring power, your hands and your work surface may remember it!

Generally speaking, turmeric can be used in all spicy preparations in which peppers, curry and other Tandoori mixtures are used. It is particularly recommended with white meats, such as turkey or chicken, and used to flavor vegetables and mushrooms.
