When these spices are combined, they create a blend that adds incredible depth and complexity to a variety of dishes. It's a blend with an intense nose and character on the palate.

Uses In the kitchen, our Garam Masala naturally finds its place in simmered dishes, with thick or intense sauces, or with strong or gamey meat. It pairs perfectly with dishes made with coconut milk. It is customary to add it a few minutes before the end of cooking, just before serving.

Garam masala originated in northern India, but its use has spread throughout the country. Along with curry and tandoori, it is the typical Indian blend. In Hindi, garam means "hot" and masala means "spice." The word garam refers to the idea of "heating the body" in the Ayurvedic sense of the word, as it is believed in Ayurvedic medicine that the spices it contains increase body temperature.
