Rully 1er Cru Margotés - White 75cl - 2021
Burgundy: Rully 1er Cru Margotés - White 75cl - 2021
DESCRIPTION : We began growing our RULLY 1ER CRU MARGOTE in 2015. This vine, whose age varies from one area to another, is already cultivated organically and is located, like all the premier crus of the Rully appellation, in the extreme south of one of the best exposed slopes of the Appellation, in the south-east. This gives wines with a frank and fruity character, sometimes mineral but always possessing a fine and dense bouquet.
Grape variety : Chardonnay
Yield : 8 Pieces, or 18.24hl for an area of 0.40ha.PREPARATION: The grapes are left on the vine for as long as possible so that the bunches reach a natural maturity of beautiful and happy quality. Harvested by hand, the bunches are then pressed, whole harvest, then the resulting juice is left to settle naturally before, by gravity, it is transferred to wooden barrels and tuns. The aging lasts between 12 and 18 months on lees without stirring. Then after racking and massing the volumes of this RULLY 1ER CRU, everything is bottled and left to rest for a year before the wine is offered for sale. This explains the reasons why our premier crus are sold with a one-year delay.
TASTING: Located at the southernmost point of the Rully 1er Cru appellation, close to our Rully 1er Cru "Grésigny", the Margotés vine, which ripens rather late, offers us this year a wine of great aromatic purity. We have the impression that the effects of the heat linked to the heatwaves that we experience more frequently have no effect on the vine and its wine. The nose is fine, precise and reveals mineral, almost chalky notes.
On the palate, even if we sense the ripeness of the fruit, the aromatic sensation remains fresh, almost sharp and delicately woody. Along with our other premier cru, "Rabourcé," this is the second premier cru that we vinify primarily in wooden barrels. It's a wine that will happily spend the next ten years in the cellar.
